Amref Health Africa hosts Japanese investors to explore potential areas of collaboration

Amref Health Africa this morning hosted a delegation of Japanese investors under the Japan Centre for International Exchange (JCIE) to discuss opportunities for partnerships to improve health services in Africa.

The delegation included representatives from pharmaceuticals, manufacturers of diagnostic equipment, medical supplies and vehicles and technology solution providers. They have been in Nairobi for the just concluded TICAD (Tokyo International Conference on Africa Development) conference.

Amref Health Africa Group CEO Dr Githinji Gitahi gave an overview of the health challenges in Africa and the various ways in which the organisation is leading initiatives to improve health on the continent.

He stressed the importance of partnerships in supporting African government to fulfill their mandate of providing health services for their people.

The meeting was attended Amref Health Africa’s Country Director in Kenya Dr Meshack Ndirangu and representatives from Equity Foundation, Magadi Soda Company, British Chamber of Commerce in Kenya, Safaricom Foundation and Acumen East Africa.
