The SGBV and Mental Health project is dedicated\u00a0to eradicating violence against women and\u00a0supporting the social reintegration of survivors,\u00a0while also addressing the needs of individuals with\u00a0mental health challenges.\u00a0The project will be implemented in selected regions\u00a0of Ethiopia, including Kemise (Amhara), Asayita\u00a0(Afar), Shire (Tigray), and the Gefersa Mental\u00a0Health Rehabilitation Center (Oromia).\u00a0<\/p>

With\u00a0funding from the Italian Agency for Development\u00a0Cooperation (AICS) and in partnership with Oxfam\u00a0Ethiopia that will implement the project in Shire,\u00a0Tigray region.\u00a0The project aims to enhance the prevention of\u00a0sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV),
improve mental health services, and strengthen\u00a0social reintegration support. By adopting a\u00a0rights-based and survivor-centered approach, the\u00a0project works to improve the accessibility and\u00a0quality of services for survivors of GBV and\u00a0individuals facing mental
health challenges.<\/p>

\u00a0
Through these efforts,\u00a0the project will strive\u00a0to create lasting,\u00a0positive impacts on\u00a0both individuals\u00a0lives and\u00a0communities in\u00a0the targeted
intervention areas.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

If communities are equipped with knowledge on\u00a0SGBV and mental health through awareness\u00a0campaigns, and if local health infrastructures, safe\u00a0spaces, and social reintegration programs are\u00a0strengthened, then survivors of GBV and individuals\u00a0with mental health conditions will have improved\u00a0access to quality support services. This, in turn, will\u00a0lead to long-term societal change in reducing GBV\u00a0prevalence and promoting mental health\u00a0well-being.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
