The seventh International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) is taking place\u00a01\u20136 November 2025 in the vibrant city of Bogot\u00e1, Colombia<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0at the\u00a0\u00c1gora Bogot\u00e1 Convention Center<\/strong><\/a>. ICFP 2025 will unite leaders, advocates, and innovators from across the sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) community to exchange ideas, forge partnerships, and drive progress toward achieving and safeguarding SRHR for all.<\/p>

Every morning, I wake up with a deep sense of purpose,\u00a0<\/span>knowing that my work could mean the difference\u00a0<\/span>between life and death for a mother or a child. My\u00a0<\/span>name is Serawit Lukase, and I serve as a Health\u00a0<\/span>Extension Worker (HEW) at Libe-Muket Primary\u00a0<\/span>Health Care Unit in Dasenech Woreda, South Omo,\u00a0<\/span>Ethiopia.<\/span><\/p>

I was born and raised in the fertile highlands of Wolaita,\u00a0where access to health services is relatively better,\u00a0roads are paved, and communities are densely settled. I\u00a0completed my training there, first earning a Level III
certificate, then graduating with a Level IV diploma as a\u00a0Health Extension Worker. Even as I studied, I felt a\u00a0strong calling to serve in areas where access to\u00a0essential healthcare services remains a critical\u00a0challenge, places where my presence could make a\u00a0greater impact.<\/p>
