Programming at the WEG includes apparatus for women to gain financial footing by providing training and access to loans that are difficult for unbanked women to secure, as well as provide information and services related to family planning.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An entrepreneur at heart, Tesfanesh went through the necessary training to get an ETB 15,000 loan to run her poultry and other small businesses. For Tesfanesh, becoming a member of the WEG opened the door for her, her husband, and their children to lead economically empowered lives.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWith the support I got from the WEG, I have been able to beat poverty and lead a planned and healthy family,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When Tesfanesh, a mother of two who lives in Hembecho kebele, in Southern Ethiopia, joined her kebele\u2019s Women Economic Group (WEG) she knew her life would change.
