Amref Consulting is a consulting and advisory arm of Amref Health Africa in Kenya based in Nairobi, but with regional and international experience and clientele.

Our Expertise
Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
Comprehensive and well-balanced M&E services that combine a distinct orientation towards collaboration with technical competence, flexibility and a deep understanding of the evaluation design and implementation process. Our M&E services include:

Research
Working closely with Amref International University (AMIU), Amref Health Africa is one of the few accredited institutions with a Scientific and Ethical Review Committee mandated to oversee adherence to research policies and guidelines related to scientific publications, proposal development, ensuring protection of rights and welfare of human research subjects. Our research services include:

Technical Advisory and Assistance
We provide technical assistance and advice on the planning, implementation and evaluation of activities related to HIV/AIDS, TB, Malaria and none communicable diseases, reproductive, maternal, new-born, child and adolescents health, nutrition, family planning and reproductive health, water, sanitation, hygiene and neglected tropical diseases. Some of our technical advisory services include:
- Proposal development
- Technical assistance to programme and project staff
- Program design and implementation
- Short-term, on-site management support
- Building local capacity to conduct household, community and facility-based surveys
- Designing surveys for diverse populations, hard-to-reach groups, and low-literacy groups
- Assistance with incorporating consumer perspectives and input into both policy development and program operations
Quality Improvement
We provide technical assistance to coach public health practitioners in quality improvement techniques. Some of our Quality Improvement solutions include:
- Developing and implementing national and county government, and facility quality improvement systems
- Providing mentorship on the implementation of the Kenya Quality Model for Health
Training and Capacity Building
We provide training to organisations and individuals on utilising quality improvement tools and techniques to achieve organisational goals and improve health outcomes. Our M&E consultants can also recommend and provide in-house training on a range of subjects, such as questionnaire design and interviewing techniques. Our approach ensures organisations maintain accurate and up to date M&E practices, as well as assisting organisations in identifying optimal M&E technical support.
