\"Damu-Sasa\"<\/p>\n

Damu-Sasa<\/a> is an innovative end-to-end blood services information management system, meant for the blood services value-chain. It is built to aid in blood donor relationship management, blood requisition and inventory and utilisation management, blood unit tracking, emergency control and reporting, including Haemovigilance and stakeholder collaboration.<\/p>\n

It was inspired by the crisis associated with the Westgate terrorist attack<\/a> that happened a few years ago. The crisis saw desperate unstructured appeals for blood and a slow response due to the lack of real-time data on blood levels and where to get the blood, coupled by poor coordination and collaboration among key players in the blood services ecosystem.<\/p>\n

Through a partnership with technology solutions firm Advanced IT Solutions (AISL)<\/a> Amref Health Africa in Kenya is supporting the to scale up Damu – Sasa <\/em>in hospitals across the country towards the realisation of universal health coverage (UHC).<\/p>\n
