Immaculate Chamangwana

Mrs. Immaculate Chamangwana holds a Masters’ degree in Health Care Resource Management from University of St. Andrews, UK and a Bachelors’ Degree in Nursing from the University of Malawi.  She is currently studying for her PhD in Health Care leadership with the University of Malawi. Immaculate serves as the Director of Mental health Services at Zomba Mental Hospital since June 2015 where her primary role is to guide and direct the implementation of mental health services throughout Malawi through the formulation and implementation of mental health policies, strategies, regulatory frameworks and work plans. Prior to this, she served as the Deputy Director of Nursing Services in Malawi under the Ministry of Health. She was also appointed as chair of the SADC Epidemiology Network on Drug Use (SENDU) and received the NOMN award of excellence in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing Management in 2006.
