Amref Health Africa Tanzania projects on Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health; and Nutrition (RMNCAH-N) are designed to address the unique healthcare needs of women, newborns, children, and adolescents, ensuring their well-being throughout the life cycle. Our initiatives focus on improving access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare services, including family planning, antenatal care, skilled delivery, and postnatal care. By empowering women with knowledge and resources, promoting maternal and child health education, and strengthening healthcare systems, we aim to reduce maternal and child mortality rates. Additionally, our projects prioritize adolescent health and empowerment, providing young people with information and services related to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) including the realization of their SRH Rights, nutrition, and mental well-being. Wash and Climate change<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Amref\u2019s focus in WASH aims to ensure that communities have adequate capacity to develop, operate and maintain their water sources as well as improve sanitation and hygiene practices in a sustainable way with a view to preventing and controlling water- and sanitation-related diseases while improving nutrition and livelihoods. In this process, Amref facilitates the availability and installation of hardware and facilitates society mechanisms that ensure hardware remains functional, with optimum use of the water available to ensure maximum health benefits in household level, health facility level, public spaces in the communities, etc, and in schools.\u00a0 Additionally, Amref Tanzania works with relevant key ministries to promote climate-resilient health systems by developing the capacities of the health workforce, endorsing the one health principles and preparedness for adverse climate events and addressing livelihoods. \u00a0Further, the interventions focus on reinforcing behaviour change for sustainable climate adaptation such as proper water resources management with communities at the centre.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Amref Health Africa Tanzania is\u00a0\u00a0 passionate about empowering youths to become agents of change in their communities. In collaboration with relevant Government ministries including Ministry of Health, PORALG, Ministry of Community development and Ministry of Water; through various initiatives, we provide opportunities for young people to develop leadership skills, economic empowerment, access education and healthcare services, and engage in advocacy for issues affecting their peers. From training programs on sexual and reproductive health to entrepreneurship workshops and mentorship opportunities, we aim to equip youth with the tools and knowledge they need to thrive and make positive contributions to society. Amref Health Africa Tanzania address Public health threats by implementing projects that are designed to safeguard communities against the threats posed by disease outbreaks and public health emergencies. In collaboration with the government ministries, Amref employs a multi-faceted approach that includes strengthening health systems, enhancing disease surveillance and response capabilities, and promoting community resilience. Through training programs, capacity building initiatives, and the establishment of effective healthcare infrastructure, we aim to improve the preparedness and response capacity of healthcare workers and communities. Amref Health Africa Tanzania, works with MoH and PORALG to implement Integrated Primary Health Care projects that take a comprehensive approach to healthcare delivery by addressing the diverse health needs of communities in cognizant with the pivotal role of linking community structures and health facilities. These projects aim to strengthen primary healthcare systems by integrating essential health services, including preventive, curative, and promotive care, delivered through well-equipped health facilities. Through advocating and contributing to efforts to ensure that local health facilities are adequately staffed, equipped, and supported, we empower healthcare professionals to provide accessible and high-quality services. Collaboration with various stakeholders, including governments, non-governmental organizations, and community leaders, remains integral to the success of PHC projects. Amref Health Africa Tanzania implement HSS projects that are designed to strengthen the foundation of healthcare delivery systems, ensuring they are resilient, responsive, and equitable. By fostering partnerships between community members, healthcare providers, and local authorities, we aim to create sustainable and culturally appropriate healthcare solutions that address the specific needs of each community.
