{"id":2531,"date":"2025-08-04T14:20:54","date_gmt":"2025-08-04T11:20:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/amref.org\/tanzania\/?p=2531"},"modified":"2025-08-05T15:25:11","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T12:25:11","slug":"i-have-transferred-the-knowledge-to-our-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amref.org\/tanzania\/2025\/08\/04\/i-have-transferred-the-knowledge-to-our-home\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cI have Transferred the Knowledge to our Home\u201d."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-white-color has-vivid-red-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-273e9b71d80cdb7d36b1ba552496c83e\">\u201cI have Transferred the Knowledge to our Home\u201d.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Justin Damas is a grade four student at Minazi Mirefu Primary School, he says \u201cafter being provided a TAKA NI MALI T-shirt by the project, my mother asked me what the message on the T-shirt meant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I explained to her on the things I was taught in school regarding waste management and waste separation, my mother was very happy and decided to adopt the knowledge at our home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I also explained the same to my other family members and we started to collect and separate wastes in the two dustbins that my mother has bought\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Taka Ni Mali project demonstrated how community driven efforts can create lasting impact. It reduced cholera cases by 80% from 2017 to 2019 and empowered <strong>145<\/strong> women and youth, increasing employment by <strong>60%.<\/strong> Income for these groups grew by <strong>198%,<\/strong> and over <strong>60,000<\/strong> people were directly reached through awareness campaigns. The project also strengthened partnerships between local authorities and waste entrepreneurs. These successes were made possible with support from Madrid City Council and implemented by Amref Tanzania partnership with the Tanzanian Government.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cI have Transferred the Knowledge to our Home\u201d.
