{"id":2941,"date":"2025-09-02T15:39:14","date_gmt":"2025-09-02T12:39:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/amref.org\/tanzania\/?p=2941"},"modified":"2025-09-02T15:39:16","modified_gmt":"2025-09-02T12:39:16","slug":"strengthening-immunization-services-a-community-health-workers-perspective","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amref.org\/tanzania\/2025\/09\/02\/strengthening-immunization-services-a-community-health-workers-perspective\/","title":{"rendered":"STRENGTHENING IMMUNIZATION SERVICES: A COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKER&#8217;S PERSPECTIVE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-white-color has-vivid-red-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-de0b50963baa5a7c1307ff41ff7050c1\">STRENGTHENING IMMUNIZATION SERVICES: A COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKER&#8217;S PERSPECTIVE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Julius Thomas Mwampashe, a dedicated community health worker based in Isangu village, Sanga Ward, Mbozi District Council, reflects on the transformative impact of the IPC-I project funded by UNICEF through Amref.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Before receiving training from Amref,&#8221; Julius recalls, &#8220;our vaccination service targets were significantly low, we lacked the experience and strategies needed to effectively reach our community.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, following comprehensive training under the IPC-I project, Julius and his team experienced a notable shift in their approach and outcomes. &#8221; The training has increased the efficiency of our work,&#8221; he states confidently. &#8221; It equipped us with various techniques to assist households in accessing vaccination services and raised awareness about vaccination issues, significantly improving our performance.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Julius highlights the tangible results of their efforts: \u201cWe can now identify children who have missed vaccinations and successfully bring them back for immunization.\u201d In his area alone, the number of vaccinated children has risen substantially, reaching up to 50 children compared to previous figures.
