The 6th of February is globally recognised as the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)<\/a><\/em>. This day is designated by the United Nations to raise awareness about the harmful practice of FGM and to promote its elimination worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The International Day of Zero Tolerance for FGM serves as a platform for us to advocate for the protection of the rights of women and girls, to condemn the practice of FGM as a violation of their human rights, and to mobilize support for efforts to end it. It also provides an opportunity to highlight the health consequences, psychological trauma, and social impacts of FGM on individuals and communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
