Head of Office in Malawi and other Southern Africa Field Offices

Boniface is a Health Development Practitioner and Leader with 30 years of work experience in Public Health, Education and Training. He is the Head of Office in Malawi and other Southern Africa Field Offices at Amref Health Africa since June 2019. Prior to this, Boniface served as Regional Head of Programs, Country M&E Manager for Amref Health Africa in South Africa. Boniface served as the Executive Director for Matabeleland AIDS Council in Zimbabwe from 2006 to 2008. He has held several technical and operations management positions in different organisations in his 20 years career in the NGO Sector where he has gained extensive experience in strategic planning, operations management, organisational development, Government and donor liaisons, operations research, M&E processes, database management, program design, grant writing and resource mobilisation. He is passionate about Mental Health, Communicable and Non-communicable diseases, gender rights, maternal, child, youth and adolescent health as well as social justice. His education and qualification includes: Master of Public Health and Honors Degree in Social Behavior Studies in HIV/AIDS from University of South Africa, a Bachelor’s degree in English and Communication Studies from the Zimbabwe Open University, Certificate in Advanced Health Management (Foundation for Professional Development-SA), a Post Graduate Certificate in Global Health from Emory University in Atlanta, USA, a Diploma in Special Education (Mental Health) and a Teacher Education Certificate from the United College of Education-an Associate of the University of Zimbabwe. Boniface is also a Fellow of the Hubert Humphrey Fellowship Program (USA). He has Professional Memberships with the South African Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (SAIOSH), South African Monitoring and Evaluation Association (SAMEA) and South African Institute of Healthcare Managers (SAIHCM).
