Amref Health Africa in Kenya was appointed by Kenya Coordinating Mechanism (KCM) as the Principal recipient (PR) for the TB component of the Global Fund grant under the New Funding Model (NFM). As a PR we are supporting the Government of Kenya through the Ministry of Health in improving laboratory infrastructure.

The Ministry of Health in Kenya, continually strives to improve laboratory systems in Kenya in order to optimize services in HIV, TB and malaria programs. Laboratory service delivery is a key component of devolved health functions to counties and strengthening laboratory infrastructure to support decentralization of specialized tests in high disease burden counties to improve service access and uptake.

The ministry of health in collaboration with Amref Health Africa in Kenya with support from the Global Fund plans to improve laboratory infrastructure in various health facilities countrywide through implementation of Laboratory Information systems. The system will improve monitoring, evaluation and dissemination of information for the laboratories and Ministry of Health. The following facilities will be targeted.

Interested eligible candidates may obtain further information from Amref Health Africa office, along Langata Road, during working hours. Upon payment of non-refundable fee of kshs 3,000 per lot. The payment should be made through either of the flollowing Bank accounts: Kenya Commercial Bank, Kipande House Branch, Account No: 1111429243 OR National Bank of Kenya, Wilson Branch, Account No: 01020058235400. Candidates  will  then  submit  bank  counterfoils  to  Amref  Health  Africa,  Finance  Office  located on Langata Road near Wilson Airport during working hours from Monday to Friday to obtain an official receipt or attach the original banking slips to the tender documents as proof of purchase.

Complete tender documents are to be enclosed in a plain envelope (each LOT in a separate envelope) marked with the tender reference number and tender name.  (The supplier’s financial bid should be in a separate envelope marked with the tender reference number and tender name. It will be opened for those who will have qualified technically only). Please note that no copies are needed only original copies. Tenders must be delivered to the address below at or before 12:00noon on 28th November 2016 and must be accompanied by a tender security of 5% percent of the tender price in the Currency specified in the tender document. Tenders should be dropped at the Amref Health Africa Big Tender Box at AMREF HEALTH AFRICA KCO, Main Reception. Tenders will be opened immediately thereafter, in the presence of the Tenderers’ representatives who choose to attend. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late tenders will be rejected.
