Points of Care aim to increase access to quality primary health services (level 1 & 2) as well as promote entrepreneurship among first line health workers in rural and hard to reach areas.

Amref Enterprises Limited (AEL) is currently testing a model of community clinics, hereby referred to as Points of Care, providing integrated primary care services at the community level. The Points of Care will improve disease awareness, and ensure availability, accessibility and affordability of quality integrated health-care services for the patients. AEL will apply a socially responsible business model to become a partner of choice for fellow innovators seeking to make a difference in patients’ lives. The services within the PoCs will be affordable in terms of pricing of the services with integrated insurance payment models.

This is being piloted in level 1 & 2 Primary Health facilities in rural and hard to reach areas using a franchise model with an aim to increase access to quality, primary, health services as well as promote entrepreneurship among first line health workers (Community Health Workers).
