Determinants of Focused Antenatal Care Utilization Among Women in Simiyu Region Tanzania

This study aimed to identify factors influencing the utilization of focused antenatal care (ANC) visits among women in Tanzania’s Simiyu Region, where coverage of the recommended four or more ANC visits remains low. Using a cross-sectional design, data from 785 women were analyzed, revealing that while all had attended at least one ANC visit, only 34% had four or more, and just 5.1% met the WHO-recommended eight visits. The study concludes that improving maternal health education and service quality is essential to increase ANC attendance in the region.
