Digital tracking of girls exposed to community led alternative rites of passage to prevent female genital mutilation/cutting, and child, early and forced marriages in Kenya: a longitudinal study

Female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C) and child marriage (CEFM) are human rights violations. Over the years, various interventions have been introduced to combat these practices, including the Alternative Rite of Passage (ARP), which offers a meaningful rite of passage without the cut. However, ARPs have been criticized for lacking data on their effectiveness. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of the Community-Led Alternative Rite of Passage (CL-ARP) model on FGM/C, CEFM, and school retention for girls and young women.
