Barkary Mohamed is a Form Two student at Chongoleani Secondary school in Tanga.

He is one among the boys in Chongoleani secondary school educated about menstrual hygiene. This has since changed his outlook, regarding menstrual periods for girls.

“Many of the boys in my school are now aware of the menstrual hygiene. This has made girls stop fearing when they are in their menstrual circles,” he says. According to Barkary, with the provision of sanitary pads to the girls, the girls are now more confident when they are in their MPs, especially when they have those sanitary towels.

For Barkary, he has witnessed remarkable changes in his school regarding the change in attitudes of his peers.
