ENHANCING VACCINATION OUTREACH: FABIOLA PHILLIPO BAHA’S PERSPECTIVE FROM ISONGOLE HEALTH CENTER

Fabiola Phillipo Baha, a dedicated nurse and supervisor of Community Health Workers (CHWs) in Isongole ward, overseeing the vaccination department at Isongole Health Center, highlights notable advancements in healthcare delivery since the inception of the project. “Over the past three months, we’ve witnessed significant improvements in our operations, particularly among our CHWs,” Fabiola explains. “They have demonstrated amazing initiative in their outreach efforts and have gotten proficient at using mobile devices to follow up on immunizations.”

The collaboration between health center staff and CHWs has proven highly productive, with CHWs actively identifying individuals who missed vaccinations and ensuring follow-ups for those who haven’t completed their immunization schedules. 

 “Our targets have seen a marked increase, and we are seeing positive trends across the board,” Fabiola notes. “The project’s support has been instrumental in these achievements.” Despite these gains, challenges persist, particularly in ensuring effective communication and accessibility of information. Basic mobile phones are still in use among some staff, highlighting a need for upgraded technology to streamline communication and data management. “I believe transitioning to smartphones would greatly enhance our efficiency,” Fabiola suggests. 

Fabiola expresses her gratitude for the ongoing support received for the vaccination program, emphasizing its critical role in improving coverage in a region that has faced challenges in this regard. “The support we receive is crucial, especially considering our current vaccination coverage,” Fabiola emphasizes. “With continued assistance, our vaccination services are running smoothly, and we are optimistic about achieving even greater success in the future.” Fabiola’s insights underscore the transformative impact of strategic initiatives and collaborative efforts in bolstering healthcare services. Her dedication and advocacy reflect a commitment to enhancing community health outcomes through innovative approaches and continuous improvement in vaccination outreach.
