A Mother’s Dedication to Her Children’s Health
From Fuoni, Zanzibar, Yusra Hassan, a proud mother of two, carries a
deep sense of gratitude for the protection that vaccines have brought to
her family. “I’m so thankful to my government for bringing vaccination
services close to us,” she says with a smile. “My children have
completed all recommended vaccines, and I’ve made sure to take
them to the clinic on every appointment. They are healthy and strong
and that makes me happy as a mother.”
Yusra’s story is one of commitment and care. She understands that
vaccines are not just medicine they are a promise of a better, healthier
future. She is grateful for the continued efforts of the government and
partners working together to make vaccines accessible to all.
“I encourage my fellow mothers to always follow up with their
children’s vaccinations,” she adds. “Let’s make sure our little ones
grow strong and stay protected from diseases like polio and other
illnesses that can harm them.”
While some in her community still believe myths that vaccines can affect
children’s growth or intelligence, Yusra confidently disagrees.
“For me,” she says firmly, “vaccines give children good health. My
children are proof of that they’re healthy, active, and full of life.”
