Protecting Generations through Tetanus Vaccination

In the same community of Fuoni, Fatma Faki, a mother of two, shares her
personal story of empowerment through vaccination. During each of her
pregnancies, Fatma made sure to receive her Tetanus vaccine,
understanding its vital role in safeguarding both her life and that of her
unborn child. “The Tetanus vaccine has protected me from infections
and kept my babies safe,” she explains. “From pregnancy to childbirth,
I’ve stayed healthy and so have my children. I’ve seen the difference it
makes.”

“During all my pregnancies, I received the Tetanus vaccine and it made a big difference. It protected me and my babies from infections and kept us healthy. My hope is that every woman takes part in this journey of protection, For ourselves and for generations to come.”

Her confidence and knowledge have turned her into a source of
inspiration for other women. Fatma now uses her experience to
encourage expectant mothers in her area to follow through with their
vaccinations. “My hope,” she says, smiling, “is that every woman will
take part in this journey of protection for ourselves, our children, and
future generations.”

Through voices like Fatma’s, the SLL Project with support from Mastercard
foundation continues to strengthen trust in vaccines, empower
communities, and nurture a healthier, more resilient Zanzibar.
