A Father Leading by Example

In Kivunge, Zanzibar, Pandu Hamisi, a proud father of three, believes
that protecting his children’s health begins with a simple but powerful act
vaccination. “I always make sure my children receive all their vaccines
on time,” he says proudly. “I bring them to the clinic myself and watch
them get immunized, knowing it’s the best way to keep them healthy.”

For Pandu, being a father means more than providing; it means being
present and responsible for his children’s well-being. He uses his voice to
encourage other fathers in the community to take the same active role.

“I advise other men to ensure their children get all the recommended
vaccines,” he explains. “It’s our duty as fathers to protect them from
diseases and give them a chance at a strong, healthy life.”

Through the SLL Project, supported by the Mastercard Foundation,
awareness about shared parenting and the importance of immunization
has grown inspiring more fathers like Pandu to take part in their children’s
health journey. Because when parents work together, communities grow
stronger, and every child gets the protection they deserve.
