Amref partners with colleges to train medical personnel
Amref Health Africa has partnered with the Malawi College of Health Sciences (MCHS) and Ekwendeni College of Health Sciences (Ecohs), to provide eLearning training courses for nurse-midwife technicians. The two pilot colleges plan to enrol about 40 students each on the two-year course starting June this year who will graduate with a diploma in nursing and midwifery. Tuesday, 20 March 2018, Nairobi: Emergency Plus Medical Services (E-Plus) in partnership with AMREF Flying Doctors has carried out an air evacuation for a five-month old baby with a congenital extra-cranial tumour from Mandera county to Nairobi for a specialized medical treatment. Generous travelers fund 1,000 more care providers in Africa
Thanks to generous donations by travelers at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and the efforts of airport staff, who together raised a total of 214,700 euros in 2017, Amref Flying Doctors can train 1,000 additional care providers in Africa and give some 500,000 people access to healthcare. Amref Joins Health Stakeholders in Aligning NCDs to Universal Health Coverage agenda
The Cabinet Secretary for Health in Kenya, Mrs Sicily Kariuki, has appealed to development partners to support the Government in mapping out how to achieve Universal Health Coverage in the context of a growing burden of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs).
