Genital Modifications in Prepubescent Minors: : When May Clinicians Ethically Proceed?
When is it ethically permissible for clinicians to surgically intervene into the genitals of a legal minor? We distinguish between voluntary and nonvoluntary procedures and focus on nonvoluntary procedures, specifically in prepubescent minors ("children"). We do not address procedures in adolescence or adulthood. With respect to children categorized as female at birth who have no apparent differences of sex development (i.e., non-intersex or "endosex" females) there is a near-universal ethical consensus in the Global North. This consensus holds that clinicians may no

Livestock keeping, mosquitoes and community viewpoints: A mixed methods assessment of relationships between livestock management, malaria vector biting risk and community perspectives in rural Tanzania
Livestock keeping is one of the potential factors related to malaria transmission. To date, the impact of livestock keeping on malaria transmission remains inconclusive, as some studies suggest a zooprophylactic effect while others indicate a zoopotentiation effect. The feasibility and impact of deploying a four-tests panel at antenatal care in primary health care facilities of a developing country, Kenya
Contracting HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B virus (HBV), and malaria during pregnancy significantly affects the health of the woman, the pregnancy, and the unborn child. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends testing pregnant women for these infections to achieve triple elimination of mother-to-child transmissions. However, this goal has not been fully realized in low- to medium-income countries, primarily due to segmented testing practices. This study aimed to investigate the effect of introducing a four-tests panel on the quality of antenatal care (ANC) among pregnant women attending sele
