Amref Health Africa implemented the LEAP intervention in Ntchisi and Mangochi districts in Malawi for three years to build the capacity of Community Health Volunteers on three childhood illnesses: Malaria, Diarrhoea, and Pneumonia, with the goal of preventing deaths of newborns and children under 5 years old. However, the end-term evaluation revealed poor project performance. Therefore, Amref Malawi conducted an internal reflection
to identify factors that might have led to the poor performance of the project.
