GLORIA CHISALA-HAMELA joined AMREF Board in Malawi as a Director in 2015. She holds a Master of Science in Comparative Social Work from University of Nordland in Norway, and a Bachelor of Social Sciences from Chancellor College, University of Malawi. She has been involved in social development programmes in government, civil society and UN agencies. She has knowledge in the areas of social and health research, advocacy, programme management, organisational capacity development, child protection, gender and HIV/AIDS among others. Having served in a clinical health research institution as a Social Scientist, she published social and health related manuscripts. She is currently working for UNICEF Malawi as a Consultant for social service workforce strengthening in Malawi
