This study highlights the growing urgency of strengthening diagnostic systems in Africa amid declining donor support. It argues that fragmented, disease-specific approaches are no longer effective and calls for integrated testing networks, better digital systems, stronger supply chains, expanded testing capacity, and increased country-led financing. Strengthening diagnostics is presented as essential for improving pandemic preparedness, health security, and equitable access to healthcare across the continent.
