Partnership for Health Systems Strengthening in Africa

The five-year (2011-2016) programme on ‘Partnership for Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) in Africa’ is a tripartite partnership between the Kenyan Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation, the Japan International Cooperation Agency and AMREF. The programme aims at strengthening partnership and networking among training institutions in Africa for development of a critical mass of health workers for sustainable health systems strengthening.

Management Development Institute

The Management Development Institute (MDI) Programme is an intensive one-week programme aimed at enhancing the leadership and management skills of programme managers and leaders of sub-Saharan African organisations devoted to delivering health care services to underserved populations. The programme is funded by Johnson&Johnson and implemented by a team of partner institutions, including University of California Los Angeles.
