Seroprevalence and demographic characteristics of SARS-CoV-2- infected residents of Kibera informal settlement during the COVID-19 pandemic in Nairobi, Kenya: a cross-sectional study

This cross-sectional study assessed the prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in the Kibera informal settlement in Nairobi, Kenya, before widespread vaccination. The study recruited 438 residents and found a high exposure rate, with 84.5% of participants testing positive for SARS-CoV-2 antibodies. The study concluded that high exposure to the virus with limited morbidity was found, supporting similar reports from other informal settlements.
