Undernutrition of orphans and vulnerable children: A comparison of cash transfer beneficiaries and non beneficiaries in Korogocho Slums, Nairobi

his study assessed the prevalence and factors associated with undernutrition among children in Korogocho, Nairobi, comparing beneficiaries of the Kenya Cash Transfer Program to non-beneficiaries. Using a cross-sectional design, 336 children. Significant associations were found between undernutrition and factors such as household composition, food expenditure, and dietary intake. Despite improved nutritional outcomes among beneficiaries, the study recommends further education on optimal use of cash transfers and nutrition to enhance their impact.
