Dr. Ndekya Oriyo
Dr. Ndekya Oriyo is the Director of Monitoring, Evaluation, Research & Learning at Amref Health Africa Tanzania, where she oversees M&E systems, aligns them with strategic goals, and drives organisational learning and evaluation initiatives.
With over 20 years of experience in public health, project management, research, and academia, Dr. Oriyo holds a PhD in Medical Microbiology from University College London (UCL), which focused on antimicrobial resistance. Her extensive work spans biosafety and biosecurity, antimicrobial resistance, One Health, health laboratory systems, global health security, and health research. She has led studies on neglected tropical diseases, adolescent mental health, COVID-19, and respiratory pathogens and is recognized for her expertise in research ethics and associated regulatory frameworks.
Dr. Oriyo has served on national and international committees, contributing to health policies and strategic plans. Her work is widely published, reflecting her commitment to advancing health initiatives and capacity-building efforts in Tanzania and beyond.
