Africa classic 2022
Amref Health Africa in Tanzania, Director of Monitoring and Evaluation Dr Frida Ngalesoni (in red t-shirt) addresses the 2nd group of cyclists as the get ready for six days of mountain biking for about 400 km & 600 km around the great Mt. Kilimanjaro. Africa classic is a fundraising event aimed to contributing to healthier communities in Africa.
Newly Constructed center of excellence in Mwanza under the Pro Poor Sanitation Enterprise project, acts as a learning space where both youth and women are trained and supported in Recycling of waste into new commercial product.
Pro Poor project project targets women and youth in low-income areas by enabling them to access income-generating and economic development opportunities by doing entrepreneurship through producing alternative products from solid and sewage wastes. Pro Poor project is funded by Madrid City Hall, Spain
Amref’s Afya Kamilifu Project in collaboration with Tanzania Communications Development Centre (TCDC) in Simiyu region conducted community awareness through Public Announcement (PAs) from 15th to 28th February2021 in Bariadi Town Council, Bariadi District, Itilima District and Maswa District.
The awareness campaign focused on sensitization and demand creation on the utilization of HIV/AIDS health services provided in health facilities including HIV testing, care and treatment and viral load suppression services. The messages targeted men aged 25 to 35 years, adolescent girls, pregnant women and traditional healers. About 69,494 people were reached in 3 districts of Bariadi, Itilima and Maswa in Simiyu region.
