Dr. Serafina Mkuwa
Dr Serafina Mkuwa is a Public health specialist with Medical background, currently working as a Programme Manager for Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) at Amref Health Africa in Tanzania. She has over 12 years of experience in public health programming and health systems strengthening interventions. She previously worked as a National Program Coordinator for Pamoja Tunaweza Program within Amref, an SRHR alliance implemented by nine (9) organizations; five from the South (Tanzania) and four organizations from the North (Netherlands). Before that she also worked as a Program Manager for Research and Advocacy where she pioneered establishment of a local Institutional Research Board (IRB) and involved in a number of researches and evidence-based advocacy. She has worked in the past with Benjamin Mkapa Foundation as M&E officer and later a Project Manager, at MUHAS as a clinical Research Scientist but also at Muhimbili National hospital being a MoH employee as a Medical Doctor or general physician.
She has vast experienced in working with multiple donors, including PEPFAR, GAC (Global Affairs Canada), DFATD, SIDA Sweden, DFID through HDIF, Big Lottery fund, Allen and Ovary, UN –Trust Fund, UNFPA, UNICEF, Amref Northern Offices, as well as Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Netherlands) among others. At national and local level she interacts closely with various Ministries, government departments and Agencies as well as partners.
