Amref Uganda’s Finance Manager Wins Prestigious 2025 CFO Award.

Amref Health Africa in Uganda is proud to celebrate one of our own, Mr. Bob Okodi, our Finance Manager who has been honored with the 2025 Chief Finance Officer (CFO) Award in the Not-for-Profit Category. The CFO Awards, now in their 9th edition, are organized annually by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in partnership with Deloitte Uganda. This year’s event was held under the theme “CFO Vision: Creating Impact and Legacy.”

The awards recognize finance professionals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, integrity, and strategic influence in shaping their organizations’ financial sustainability and impact. To qualify, nominees must have held a senior finance leadership position for at least three years and be members of a professional body recognized by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), such as ACCA or ICPAU.

Each year, the competition draws outstanding finance leaders from across sectors; public, private, not-for-profit and evaluates them across several categories including Sustainability, Compliance & Governance, Strategy Execution, Finance Transformation & Technology, and Leadership.

A Competitive and Inspiring Recognition

This year’s competition was particularly fierce. In the Not-for-Profit category, 32 nominations were submitted, from which only five candidates were shortlisted for final interviews with the judging panel. Emerging as the winner among such a distinguished group highlights Bob’s unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and ethical leadership in financial management.

A Reflection of Teamwork and Organizational Strength

Speaking after receiving the award, Bob expressed his gratitude and pride:

“I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to all Amref staff who nominated me, without your support, this recognition would not have been possible. This award is not only a recognition of the dedication and effort I have invested over the years as Finance Manager, but also a testament to the strength and excellence of our finance team. I do not see this as an individual award, but as an accomplishment for the entire organization. Beyond personal recognition, this award enhances Amref Uganda’s profile and builds confidence among potential donors, affirming that they are partnering with an organization whose CFO is highly regarded within the NGO sector and the country at large.”
