Economic evaluation of primary health care integration and targeted mass drug administration in counties in western Kenya
Integrating STH and schistosomiasis treatment into primary healthcare in western Kenya was less costly and more sustainable, while campaign-based mass drug administration achieved higher coverage and greater immediate health impact. The findings support a hybrid approach, using PHC integration for routine delivery complemented by periodic campaigns to maximize coverage, cost-efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
