Effectiveness of women-centred participatory learning and action approach on maternal and newborn healthcare utilisation: a quasi-experimental embedded implementation research
Despite significant advancements in maternal and newborn health (MNH) in Ethiopia, disparities persist, particularly among agrarian and pastoralist communities due to socioeconomic and gender barriers. This study demonstrated that a community-led, women-centred Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) approach significantly improved the uptake of MNH services, including institutional deliveries and vaccinations, thereby enhancing health equity in underserved populations.
