Kefeta Integrated Digital Youth Activity is an innovative initiative that aims to develop an integrated digital youth portfolio to deliver
digital and innovation opportunities to better prepare Ethiopian youth to meaningfully engage with today’s connected economies/societies.
Stemming from a transformative partnership between Vodafone Foundation, Safaricom Telecommunications Ethiopia PLC, and Amref
Health Africa, the project works towards empowering Ethiopian youth through advanced digital infrastructure, financial literacy, and entrepreneurial opportunities. It will strengthen Amref’s youth development interventions by enhancing the Kefeta remodeled youth centers with advanced technology infrastructure, improving primary and secondary education for internally displaced people, digitizing youth services, establishing youth-friendly digital incubation hubs to promote innovation and self-employment, and increasing youth employability by improving digital literacy and innovation.
With the Vodafone Foundation as the primary source of financing and technical expertise, youth will gain access to youth-friendly digital
infrastructure, tools, and services at the youth centers. This initiative will also include practical strategies for the inclusion of youth with
disabilities by providing technology based assistive devices.
