Amref Health Africa works closely with key government ministries and regional offices including the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Women and Social Affairs, Ministry of Water and Energy, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Labor and Skills, as well as multiple local and international health and development implementing organizations. We implement projects in 12 regional states and two city administrations.
Amref Health Africa works with the Afar Regional Health Bureau, as well as the zonal and district level health offices to address health quality and equity challenges within the region. We have been present in Afar since 2005, where we have been implementing community-based approaches in the most hard to reach places. Our work in Afar encompasses all of our program focus areas in RMNCAYH, Health System Strengthening, Youth Development WASH and Disease Prevention and Control.H
