Over the past two decades, Adam Abate has held senior roles in government, including serving as Director of Technology at Ethiopia’s Ministry of Finance, where he led the development of nationwide financial management systems that remain in use today. He co-founded and scaled Apposit, a pioneering technology services company that powered high-impact businesses across Africa by building solutions such as market data systems for the Ethiopia Commodity Exchange, digital voucher platforms for agriculture, and sales force automation tools for FMCG distribution; in 2019, he successfully negotiated Apposit’s acquisition by Paga, one of Africa’s leading fintech companies. Adam has also led investments for Renew Capital, a pan-African venture capital fund operating in 13 countries. Beyond these operational roles, he is an active investor in innovative African businesses, driven by a passion for applying technology to solve the continent’s most pressing challenges and combining strategic insight with strong execution to build organizations that deliver lasting impact.
